St. Mary's of the Woods Festival

Despite some rain early in the
day, hundreds of people enjoyed the St. Mary's
of the Woods Annual Festival held for the first
time at Fisher's Flea Market. Some vendors
stayed open and the festival had two full barns
with games of chance, a silent auction, and many
games for the children. A petting zoo,
pony rides, and amusement rides provided fun for
the entire family. The famous chicken
dinners sold out both evenings. Church
volunteers said they liked the ability to be
able to set up early and take some time to clean
up after the event.

Wooden Keels and Vintage Wheels

This annual event is popular
with the young and old. For those who can
remember the wooden boats lined up in the
Russells Point Harbor to take you on a sunset
cruise, it brings back many happy memories.
The 1925 Ford, still running and looking
splendid is a testimony to the quality of this
American motor company. Thanks to the many
owners who brought boats and cars to this annual
event.
